This is the design sculpt for the 70 ft long mural featured in the film. This sequence was added during reshoots. Production wanted to loop back to the story carvings I designed for the Mandarin's family compound. It depicts the struggle Ta Lo had in defeating the soul eaters. The representation of the soul eaters is not a one to one translation, but rather a folklorical interpretation. It was a lot to tackle in a short time, but it was a blast.
This is a nod to the masterful carvings of the Dongyang school. Do yourself a favor and google that.
